I don't see it as a series. Maybe a movie...
I will hurt someone if this turns out not to be
true.

A long time ago we moved.
I've been really lax on posting... well, much of anything lately, whether Ava updates/pictures/videos or just what we've been up to in general. I'm going to try to be better, starting with these months-old photos from our move at the end of March.
Our boxful living room.
Big truck. Big.
Ava enjoys some strawberries while the movers do their thing.
Our pinball machine may be smaller than the pool table, but it's just about as heavy.
Speaking of the pool table, it was a tight squeeze, to say the least.
Ava and Daddy catch some of the ISU women's basketball team
beating Georgia Tech in the NCAA Tournament.
"Daddy, why does the living room look funny?"
Ava makes a very important call.
A few days and one state later, Ava eagerly awaits our stuff.
Yup. Still big.
This was around the time Ava's love affair with "outside" began.
If only we could all take a nap in the middle of moving.

Hope no one needs to go nowhere.
I've seen some crazy in my time, but this is one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
They're about to close I-380 between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City because of the flooding. That's a 27-mile trip that normally would take 20-30 minutes. The Iowa DOT detour between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids is as follows: Take I-80 west from Iowa City to Des Moines; I-35 north to US 20; US 20 east to I-380; I-380 south to Cedar Rapids. That's over FOUR HOURS and 280 miles.
That's just... just...
Wow.
Another story...
...about
our favorite Iowa State women's basketball recruit.

Our refrigerator.
Why is it open and empty? I'm glad you asked. That would be because it's broken. That's right, our TWO-year-old refrigerator dun went and quit on us.
Luckily, the people we bought our house from left us another refrigerator (which was still plugged in and everything) in our garage, so we had an immediate location to transfer all our fridge and freezer food to. And Josh was able to figure out what was wrong with it (thank you, internet!) and order a part that needed to be replaced (thank you, internet!), so we should be back to normal soon. (I never realized before just how convenient it is to have your refrigerator actually in the kitchen.) I suppose it's not the worst thing in the world as it forced me to clean it long before I ever would have on my own (so as to keep it from stinking too much -- also why we tried to keep the doors open, though we had a little door-closing fairy who made that difficult at times).
I realize I have no cause to complain about something like this what with the kinds of things a lot of people around here are having to go through (EF5 tornadoes, floods, etc.). Still, you'd expect a name-brand appliance to last more than a couple years before it breaks down. I know I sure did.
