This is the only picture I'll bore you with from our quest to find other "Ed"
sites around northeast New Jersey. This is THE BENCH where Ed and Carol finally
got together in the 3rd season finale (and where they first kissed in the pilot
as well). It's probably the most significant real outdoor setting used on the
show, and very worthy of seeking out (and showing you).
Hey, it could be, right? ;) Ha ha.
By the time we found the bowling shoes, they were pretty well picked over, but
we were lucky enough to find a pair of 13's
that would fit Josh. And then I
was lucky enought to spy them on the show.
This is NOT like my cutesy bowling pin joke above. This is the ACTUAL ball that
Ed is bowling with in this picture (the light spot on it being the "Boogie").
It came in its own bowling ball box marked "Boogie," unlike all the
boring regular balls (some of which weren't even drilled) sitting on the racks.
Yup. I have one of Tom Cavanagh's bowling balls from the show. Life is good.
:)
One of the stools from Stuckeybowl that you can see here behind Dr. Mike Burton.
It was one of my goals to get one of these.
As you can see, I succeeded.
A cool ding bell, one of those used here in the Quiz Bowl episode from season
2 ("Power of the Person").
A very nice silk pillow I got for a steal ($1) that you can see here on Lisa
Ling's chair. Probably one of those props used a few times
in various locations.
A very lovely bamboo plant from Mike and Nancy Burtons' house, as you can see
behind Nancy's right shoulder.
A nightstand from the Burtons' house. You can see it on the lefthand side of
the screen cap. The pic below just shows how it was labelled,
actually a little confusingly since it says both "Burton Bathroom"
and "BedRm." Plus, in the binders of continuity pictures (taken
in the final season) they had for us to look at at the sale, we saw it in the
Burtons' upstairs hallway. Likely it started out as a
nightstand as in the above picture (which is from the second episode), and was
moved around once or twice, ending up in the
hallway by the fourth season. Wish I'd thought to take pictures of a few of
the set photos like I saw other people doing. :)
A lamp from the Burtons' house. Yup, we cleaned up on stuff from the Burton
house. Not intentionally, just happened that way.
The sign from the stables where Ed and Mike bought a racehorse in an episode
from season 4. Unfortunately, it seems any shots of the
whole sign were cut in editing, but you can see the corner of it here. And it's
just a sweet sign.
Ah, yes, one of our favorites. How can you not love a huge sign that says "Insane
Clown Water Race?" From the 2nd season finale ("Last Chance"),
it's the carnival game Warren and Mark play in a competition for Diane's affections
cleverly disguised as a competition to win her a stuffed animal. (Sign is in
the upper left corner.)
One of our greatest finds, Molly's nameplate. Items with characters' names on
them were few and far between. We lucked out big time on this one.
My absolute favorite and another very rare find -- Nancy's and Stella's bridesmaids'
dresses from Carol's non-wedding to Dennis Martino, matching shoes and all.
There were VERY few wardrobe peices for sale, and most of them not anything
worn by a main character. One of the dresses sort of fit me (actually, it's
Nancy's top and Stella's skirt, funnily enough), though it would fit a lot better
if I lost about 5-10 pounds. Did I mention that life is good?
To my surprise, after we got home I found in the bottom of the bridesmaids'
dress bag this little pouch containing a pearl necklace and earrings. After
surveying my tape of the episode again, I found that Carol (the bride), was
the only one wearing such a thing. I don't know for a fact that they are one
and the same, but it seems a reasonable possibility considering where I found
them. Now, if only my ears were peirced... :)
