"Born is the King of Israel" (Matthew Prins, 2007): A+++++++
Last year, right in the middle of our half-cross-country move, I heard from a couple people that my just-released handbell arrangement "Born is the King of Israel" had gotten reviewed in Overtones, the pretty-much-only handbell magazine. Well, I had never had one of my pieces reviewed in print before, so I was very much looking forward to reading the review, but there was one tiny problem -- no one I knew kept that issue of the magazine. Fast-forward to this morning, when, looking for something else on the website of AGEHR (the pretty-much-only handbell organization), I realized they had a PDF of the Overtones issue that contained my review. Fast-forward to this very moment, when I post the review for your pleasure:
i sincerely do not know what you are doing here. are you lost? were you
looking for your delicate calico cat, and did you follow her up two flights of stairs
to this room? she is not here. she was here, yes. we gave her a warm bowl of milk, we talked with her about campaign finance reform for a time, and then she bid us good day. i believe she was
going to the post office two blocks down, but i don't quite recall.
for surely you did
not find your way from prinsiana, the least traveled site on
the internet. if you did, though, perhaps you are looking for humor. perhaps you are looking for profundity. perhaps you are looking for answers.
i'm sorry, but you shall go naught-for-three.
